Great Toronto hotel pools include sweeping rooftop views, fun waterslides, and high-end spas.
If you’re like me, you use the “has pool” filter on all your hotel searches. But not all hotel pools are created equal and if you’ve ever been disappointed by a tiny pool in a basement with lots of chlorine and zero vibes, I sympathize. The best Toronto hotel pools are the opposite of that!
I wrote this list for anyone staying in Toronto and looking for that refreshing morning dip, a chic rooftop lounge, or a luxurious lounging experience. (Plus a few picks for those with kids.) Most of these pools are only for hotel guests but I’ve noted those that offer Day Passes to non-guests.
These are my top picks for the most beautiful, fun and relaxing pools at Toronto hotels where you can swim, sip, and soak up the city in style.

Best Toronto Rooftop Pools

The holy grail of hotel pools is the rooftop with views and great drinks. Toronto has several stunners! Note that these often have shorter hours than indoor pools.
1 Hotel
Probably the most famous rooftop pool in Toronto for its perfect Instagramable panoramic skyline that’s very much a Place to Be in the summer months. You can only access this plunge pool as a guest of 1 Hotel (formerly the Thompson) and you must reserve a 90-minute timeslot. 1 Hotel is a Michelin-approved boutique hotel in downtown Toronto near King St West that highlights its sustainability measures like reclaimed local wood furniture. It’s also home to several lovely special occasion bars and restaurants I recommend for their excellent mocktails. Pool hours: 7am to sunset, summer only.
Bisha Hotel
A proper Toronto rooftop pool scene right in the heart of the entertainment and club district. Located on the 44th floor, you can see the whole world from up here (or close). Pool is small and thin, you can do laps if needed but it’s designed for cooling off. Exclusive to Bisha Hotel guests, who come for the VIP treatment, design-forward suites, and pet-friendly policies. Pool is located right beside Köst, one of Toronto’s best restaurants. Pool hours: 7:30am to 5pm in summer only.

Radisson Blu Toronto Downtown
Lake Ontario one side. CN Tower on the other.
This Toronto hotel outdoor pool is my personal favourite for the rooftop views, friendly atmosphere and the fact that you can visit for the day. It’s on the fifth floor of this mid-price hotel right on the water at Harbourfront Centre and a five-minute walk to Rogers Centre which is great for sports and music fans and I’ve met some fun people hanging out there. Open only in the summer, when it also offers Day Passes to non-hotel guests that are one of Toronto’s best staycation secrets! Food and drink are light and healthy with lots of vegan and non-alcoholic options. (Don’t worry, you can also get truffle fries and a pina colada.) This is the rooftop pool in Toronto for you if you want to cool off and lounge around without fussing too much about how hot you look in a bathing suit, if you know what I mean. Hours are 11am to 9pm daily but note that because it’s between some tall buildings, the sun doesn’t stay on the entire pool all day, so I like to come early.
Best Indoor Pools at Toronto Hotels

Some of Toronto’s most beautiful hotels have excellent indoor pools.
Shangri-La
Michelin calls the Shangri-La a very special stay and it’s known for having one city’s best hotel spas, Miraj Hammam. While the hamman is still closed for renovations (boooo), there’s a 20-metre lap pool in an elegant setting with glass roof, contemporary chandeliers, and windows with views of downtown. An infrared sauna and steam room also available. And the cozy semi-private lounge areas are a unique feature. The Shangri-La pool is open to guests of the hotel (6am to 11pm) or the spa.
Fairmont Royal York
The Grand Dame of Toronto Hotels, the Royal York is a classic Toronto staycation spot and perfect for travellers coming into Union Station just across the street. Guests can access a serene indoor pool with skylight that’s 15 metres long (50 feet) with a deep end of 1.2 metres (4.2 feet) heated to 82-84 degrees C (27-29 F. There’s also a whirlpool (40 degrees C, 104 F), saunas, steam rooms, and a separate children’s wading pool.
Four Seasons Yorkville
This luxury hotel in Yorkville has a beautiful “indoor relaxation pool” on the 9th floor with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a view of the city. Swim, float, lounge, enjoy the steam room and hot tub. A perfect break between a day of shopping and a night out. Open 6am to 10pm.
Best Toronto Hotel Pools for Families

Chelsea Hotel
For those with their kids in tow looking for a Toronto hotel pool for families this is the spot. The Chelsea is centrally located for the Eaton Centre, Little Canada, AGO, ROM and other major kid-friendly attractions. They have two indoor pools: an adults-only area with pool, hot tub, and gendered saunas and one in the “family fun zone.” Young guests love the hotel’s Corkscrew Waterslide that actually loops outside the building! Hours for kids’ pool are daily 9am to 9pm and adults pool is 6am to 11pm. Note that waterslide hours are more limited and Friday-Sunday only.
Hilton Mississauga Meadowvale
If you don’t need to be downtown, check out this Hilton about 40km from the city centre, closer to the airport. Their indoor pool has a Big Blue Waterslide open Friday 6pm to 10pm, Saturday 9am to 9pm and Sunday 9am to 2pm. Adults have a separate heated saltwater pool, an outdoor pool and whirlpool open 6am to 10pm daily.
Best Hotel Pools in Toronto in Winter

Most outdoor pools in Toronto hotels are only operating in the summer. Not these ones! Enjoy heated pools or indoor/outdoor pools year-round.
Sheraton Centre
Psst. Here’s a local secret. This hotel’s indoor/outdoor pool is a fave for serious swimmers—it’s Olympic sized at 25 metres by 8 metres, with a deep end of 2 metres. What’s neat is the “protective glass wall” between the indoor and outdoor, so you just glide underneath to switch in between. Water is kept between 25 and 28 degrees C all year round. The location can’t be beat, right across from City Hall and the Eaton Centre – try to get a room on the north site for views of the Toronto sign. Day passes and monthly memberships are available for non-guests, which also includes the fitness centre. Pool hours are 6am to 10pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 10pm on weekends.
Hilton Toronto
Another nice heated indoor/outdoor pool open year-round that’s especially lovely in the winter. Everything you expect from a Hilton, in the downtown business district. Pool offers views of skyscrapers and CN Tower. Open 8am-10pm daily.
Budget Toronto Hotels with Pools

Don Valley Hotel & Suites
Budget travellers know about this family-friendly hotel about 15km from downtown, which is sometimes the only affordable choice in high seasons and a good value anytime. It has three pools including a large outdoor pool with patio, and a pretty indoor swimming pool in a glass atrium open 8am to 10pm.
Holiday Inn Toronto Downtown Centre
This good value hotel has a heated indoor pool that is surprisingly large, and I appreciate the long hours, open from 5:30am to 11pm.
Saltwater Pools at Toronto Hotels

As someone who loves to float on my back…saltwater pools are a treat. They also boast less chemical additives to traditional chlorine pools.
Hazelton Hotel
For a relaxing wellness experience, the saltwater pool at this upscale boutique hotel in Yorkville is called a “haven of tranquility and luxury.” There’s also a steam room. You can access this pool as a guest or with treatments at the hotel’s Spa by Valmont.
St Regis
This infinity saltwater lap pool on the 32nd floor of the luxury St. Regis hotel has a view over the downtown skyline and a contemporary design. There’s also a whirlpool. Open 6am to 10pm.

InterContinental Toronto Centre
A saltwater swimming pool in a Toronto hotel that offers a day pass? Yes please. Conveniently located downtown beside the Metro Convention Centre and short walking distance to CN Tower Ripleys, Scotiabank Arena and other major tourist attractions, the InterContinental is popular with families but the Spa Day Pass is great for solo self-care day or a girlfriend hang, although if you are two people booking a room may turn out to cost as much as the day pass fee of $95 weekdays and $125 on weekends. You get access to the heated 48-foot pool on the 3rd floor, hot tub and steam rooms, open 6am to 10pm.
Yorkville Royal Sonesta
I like the funky retro design and big windows at this indoor rooftop pool bringing sunny California vibes to Bloor Street West. 5am to 11pm.

Best Toronto Airport Hotel Pools
Sheraton Gateway Toronto Airport
What’s this? A hotel pool that’s open….24 hours a day! Huzzah. I honestly don’t think I’ve seen this before and I love it, especially if you’re travelling at weird hours or jetlagged. I would also use this for a birthday party or date night where you want to go out late then have a swim and hot tub before bed. The indoor heated pool is nothing special, design-wise but hey, it’s open 24 hours!
Sandman Signature Toronto Airport
Honourable mention to this Canadian-owned hotel chain for those Canadians who want to keep as many of their travel dollars in the country as possible. Their indoor pool is open 9am to 9pm and is a standard hotel pool.
I hope this list of Toronto Hotel pools is helpful! Did I miss your favourite? Let me know.
